about you

Piano lessons are first and foremost about you, and your unique connection to music. Whether you are an aspiring professional musician, a complete beginner, an adult returning to the piano in the hopes of rekindling a long-lost talent, or you simply want to play the piano as a means to unwind, I am dedicated to creating a learning experience that honours your goals and meets you exactly where you are.

AN INVESTMENT FOR LIFE

For children, learning to play the piano builds foundational cognitive skills, and sharpens spatial awareness, focus and fine motor coordination. For adults, it can sharpen memory, protect cognitive health, and serve as a deeply rewarding creative outlet that reduces daily stress. No matter your age, playing a musical instrument offers a beautifully alternative way to express yourself. In short, it can be a lifelong investment in mental agility, patience and joy.

FOSTERING MUSICIANSHIP

While I am a classically trained musician, I encourage all students to explore and develop their own musical tastes. During lessons, students are taught to listen actively so that they can practise independently and efficiently at home. As they advance technically and musically, they learn to discover for themselves what the music means, and how to communicate this in performance settings.

ADAPTING TO CHANGING NEEDS

As young students get older and their musical tastes change, and I encourage them to listen to different styles of music at home, to discover new pieces they might like to play themselves.

In this way, they learn to take ownership of their learning experience.
